AVIOR NAMED AEROSPACE 2009 SME OF THE YEAR IN QUEBEC
Montreal, December 8, 2009 - Avior Integrated Products has been awarded the Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) of the Year by the Quebec Aerospace Association (AQA) in recognition of its outstanding business success. The award is presented to an SME in the prominent aerospace sector that best reflects the association’s mission and objectives, namely;
• Strong financial management and strategic planning
• Innovation and continuous improvement
• Leadership and excellence in human resources management
• Dedication to the environment and sustainable development, and
• Corporate citizenship and involvement with the AQA
Mr. Stephen Kearns, Avior President and CEO, accepted the award from AQA President, Mr. Jacques Saada at a Gala Award dinner held at the Westin Hotel Montreal on December 8, 2009. He acknowledged the confidence shown by their customers in establishing Avior as a center of excellence for composites in Quebec. He thanked all Avior employees for their dedication and hard work through challenging times. Kearns said, “Customers and investors believe in our future because of our strong track record of excellence and the dedication of our employee team. Our employees have, and will continue to be instrumental in establishing Avior as a lead integrator of lightweight structures.”

AVIOR EXPANDS ITS COMPOSITE CAPABILITY
Avior continues to build on its development plan to establish Avior as a center for excellence in composite technology in Quebec. In addition to securing the necessary NADCAP approvals in composites the company has invested in equipment and technology at its composite facility in Granby Quebec.
In 2009 the company has doubled its clean room to 12,350 sq. ft. and introduced a new 8’ x 28’ autoclave. The additional new autoclave is now certified and will provide added capacity in 2010. During the same year, Avior has also introduced ultrasonic inspection, as well as a Virtek ply locator which includes four multi-directional projectors.

NADCAP APPROVAL FOR COMPOSITES
In 2009, Avior achieved an important strategic milestone by obtaining NADCAP approval for its composite operations in Granby. Avior is the first Quebec-approved manufacturer and third in Canada to receive this industry recognized accreditation for the Composites Layup Process, and also fourth for Composites Commodity which covers several different processes including Metal to metal Bonding. This marks a critical step in Avior’s commitment to being the leader in composites and light aircraft structures in Canada.
Avior’s composite facility is based in Granby Quebec. This facility specializes in the manufacture of composite products that use high temperature cured materials such as Graphite and Kevlar. Composite products and parts produced at this facility are flying on Boeing, Airbus, and Bombardier aircraft.
