AUTOMATION CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (ACE)
Our vision is to make bold advances in our technology and innovation initiatives and accelerate the transformation of our business. This ambitious transformation requires a dedicated team of talented engineers operating independently from the demands of regular production. This is why Avior established the ACE (Automated Center of Excellence) Group in 2019.
This group’s mandate is to develop new technologies for our three manufacturing facilities. ACE operates in its own development center with dedicated fabrication equipment. This standalone group is focused 100% on developing new innovations for rapid and seamless deployment to the manufacturing business units.
The projects deployed to date include robotic cells for loading and unloading machines, portable paint touch-up systems, and most recently an automated nutplate installation system. All the projects share the common objective of reducing costs and providing competitive solutions for our customers.
In 2019, Avior was recognized by the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada for its advancement in innovation with the Industry Excellence Award for Small Business Innovation Technology.
