AEROSPACE TESTING LAB

Avior is proud to have built a state-of-the-art aerospace testing lab over the years. Originally exclusive to supporting our internal production requirements, our laboratory capabilities and ultrasonic (UT) inspection services are now available to all of our customers. The wide range of approvals for materials testing, non-destructive testing, and destructive testing is a welcome addition to Avior’s diverse portfolio of products and services.

In addition, Avior holds laboratory approvals for BellFlight, Bombardier, Boeing, and Airbus for a wide range of testing for metal and composite materials. The recently added automated UT 10 axis capability is supported by an in-house ASNT Level III technician and is approved for inspection of Bombardier, BellFlight, Boeing, and Airbus products.

Ultrasonic Inspection

Avior supports BellFlight, Bombardier, Boeing, Spirit Aerosystems and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries aircraft programs with the latest technology in UT inspection. Our internal ASNT Level III and Level II develop the technique and process instructions for each part number. Our UT inspection service supports our composite fabrication production line and is also offered as an inspection service to our clients.

Avior employs different ultrasonic inspection methods such as:

  • Conventional Ultrasound Testing (A-Scan), Through Transmission-fixed Waterjet Yoke Squirter System (Olympus OmniScan MX and Focus PX)

  • Conventional Ultrasound Testing ( A-Scan), Pulse-Echo and Through Transmission (Olympus OminScan MX and Focus PX)

  • Phased Array Ultrasound Testing, Pulse-Echo / A-B Scan (Olympus OmniScan MX)

  • Phased Array Ultrasound Testing, Pulse-Echo / A-B-C Scan with Mini-wheel Encoder (Olympus Focus PX)

  • Resonance, Pitch-Catch and Mechanical Impedance Analysis Ultrasound Testing (NDT Systems BondaScope 3100)

  • Automated Ultrasound Testing, Through Transmission and Pulse Echo, 10-axis Sidearms Water Jet Squirter System (TecScan URSUS 3000)

Avior is accredited to Nadcap Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and is qualified to Boeing, BellFlight, Bombardier, and Airbus primary Ultrasonic specifications to perform NDT inspection on composite parts.
