Avior has introduced its first collaborative robot or “Cobot” that is portable and can be easily moved to different production cells to perform repetitive specialized functions. The small robot is fully integrated into Avior’s ERP. The initial trials are being used for loading and unloading small 3 axis machined parts. The system is compatible with multiple machines and utilizes an optical scanner to identify parts as it loads parts into machines. This unique system provides maximum flexibility to accommodate multiple parts autonomously.
The collaborative flexible cell will be introduced in other departments in 2020 and 2021.
