Avior Integrated Products was honored last evening with an Industry Excellence Award at the Canadian Aerospace Summit in Ottawa, hosted by the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada. The Small Business Innovation Technology Award recognizes a business whose advanced or innovative technologies have contributed to making Canada a strong and rapidly growing innovation economy and continue making a positive impact within the industry and community.
In accepting the award, Mr. Stephen Kearns, President and CEO, said “We are very grateful to the AIAC as it represents industry validation of our strategic commitment to continue investing in methods, equipment and people to meet the industry’s quality, performance and productivity challenges. In the past 24 months, we have commissioned our first robotic machining center, with another to follow shortly; launched our own Business Intelligence system; have converted two of our three business units into paperless production environments; more recently, installed a collaborative robot to assist with certain shop-floor operations. Our customers want to do business with suppliers that are nimble and effective and we believe that by digitizing and automating our operations, we can compete around the world.”
